Consider us for your next event »

The Salvation Army’s Kroc Corps Community Center contains over 100,000 square feet of programming space including a 77,000 sq ft complex located on a 17-acre site in the historic mill community of Harrisburg. Nestled along the Augusta Canal, the center campus is comprised of one main building designed to complement the nearby Sibley Mill and King Mill, and a 10,000 sq ft building that houses the First Stop Family Service Center. In addition, there is an expansive parking lot, several historic homes and a historic church renovated for programming on the campus.

Our unique gathering spaces are all housed under one giant roof and outfitted with state-of-the-art technology. We invite you to come take a look at our various spaces to plan your next event.

The Kroc Centers started with one woman’s dream

The History behind The Salvation Army Kroc Center San Diego

Watch Joan Kroc’s vision for the community and a look back at how The Salvation Army Kroc Center – San Diego came to be.

Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, said that she took a tour of San Diego and it was then that she recognized a community that was in desperate need of a safe gathering place, a place with facilities and trained professionals to nurture children’s social skills, arts appreciation and athletic potential. She described The Kroc Center as being a beacon of light and hope in the community.

Mrs. Kroc entrusted The Salvation Army with $90 million to build the first Kroc Center in the Rolando neighborhood of San Diego. Sadly, she passed away a little more than a year after it opened. She was so pleased with what was accomplished here that she left $1.5 billion to The Salvation Army to build centers like this across the country. Today, there are 26 Kroc Centers nationwide.

“We can help bring our city together by declaring our love to all of its children and showing them the faith we have in their future.”

~Joan Kroc, 1998
